Cops are investigating the event as it was held without a valid permit. – The Malaysian Insider file pic, February 25, 2015.Johor police have started an investigation into the organisation of a public talk on Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, in Pagoh, last Sunday.State police chief Datuk Mohd Mohktar Mohd Shariff said the talk believed to be organised by an opposition party was held without a valid permit as required under the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012."Those who had made speeches and instigated the people during the talk will not get away with it."We will use our discretion and when the investigation papers are completed, we will submit them to the public prosecutor for further action," he told reporters at the Johor police headquarters in Johor Baru today.
The solidarity talk was also attended by several opposition lawmakers, among them PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli and Kluang MP Liew Chin Tong. – Bernama, February 25, 2015.
